3D Printer Terms of Use


DIY 3D Printing

  1. Access to DIY 3D printers is provided to all Emory students, faculty, and staff with login through their NETID.
  2. Users may have one active print job at a time.
  3. All users are given 100 hours of free print time per month to use on the DIY 3D printers. This amount does not roll over.
  4. Users must be physically present at the selected printer to begin their print job.
  5. Users may submit print jobs with a duration up to six hours. Larger files and longer print jobs must be printed through TechLab's 3D printing service.
  6. All prints must comply with Emory University’s Information Technology Conditions of Use and Emory University’s Undergraduate Code of Conduct.

Printing as a service

  1. Access to TechLab’s 3D printing service is available to all Emory students, faculty, and staff.
  2. Prints must be paid for in full at the time of submission.
  3. Prints may be paid for through EaglePrint or department speedtype.
  4. FDM prints (PLA filament) must be printed with the support and adhesion settings recommended by TechLab staff.
  5. All SLA (resin) prints must be printed with support and rafts.
  6. TechLab does not accept the submission of user sliced files.
  7. All prints must comply with Emory University’s Information Technology Conditions of Use and Emory University’s Undergraduate Code of Conduct.



Student Digital life reserves the right to amend these terms of use at any time. Failure to follow the above rules may result in disciplinary action, including suspension of print privileges.
